Kubota to present unmanned agricultural machinery at 2025 Osaka Expo
TOKYO, Aug 29 — Twelve sponsors of Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai’s Future City pavilion, including Kubota Corp. in Osaka, announced the contents of their individual exhibitions to be presented at the pavilion. Kubota, which will make presentations on food and agriculture at the expo, said it plans to exhibit completely unmanned, autonomous agricultural machinery of the future. The firm will demonstrate food and agriculture of the future, using a screen and a monitor more than 20 meters wide in total. A dairy farm in Hokkaido becomes Japan’s first to market frozen grass-fed milk
HOKKAIDO, Aug. 24 — Suzuki Farm in Hiroo, Hokkaido, started selling grass-fed milk — milk produced from cows raised with only grass — frozen, becoming the first to do so in Japan. The farm succeeded in preserving its Tokachi Organic Milk without losing its flavor through quick freezing. If kept frozen, the durable life period of the product will be largely extended to three months, giving the farm a competitive advantage in expanding its sales channels. AKITA, Aug. 23 – A Japanese local agricultural cooperative in Akita Prefecture, JA Akita Shinsei, began selling a box of assorted local agricultural products on August 20 to support local farmers hit by heavy rain that caused significant agricultural damages in July. The JA will use 10% of the revenue to support regional farmers. “We’d like to ask consumers to eat more agricultural products to support affected farmers,” a JA staff said. Tochigi works to increase dairy consumption
TOCHIGI, Aug. 18 — The government of Tochigi Prefecture has made August the month to campaign for increased consumption of Tochigi-made milk and dairy products among its residents. Every Friday in August, around 30 officials of the prefectural government’s livestock production promotion division which leads the campaign wear a Holstein pattern shirt to work. They also decorate their laptops with Holstein pattern stickers and send out messages in various places to encourage people to drink milk. Tochigi is Japan’s No. 2 milk producing region after Hokkaido.
