SHIZUOKA, Jan. 31 — A popular Thai actress, Bow Maylada, made her fourth visit in Shizuoka city, Shizuoka Prefecture. The city of Shizuoka invited her for four consecutive years as part of its promotional activities to have potential travelers from Thailand and other countries know about the attractive destinations they’ll find in Shizuoka, while Japan is becoming more and more popular among inbound tourists. Bow also visited a pilot shop run by an agricultural cooperative in Shizuoka city, JA Shimizu, and posted some pictures of what she found in the city, both local attractions and foods, on her social networking service (SNS) accounts.

Bow has nearly 700,000 followers on Instagram, the Internet-based photo-sharing service, and her posts gathered 300,000 likes in total in 2017.

Her destinations this year included Miho-no-Matsubara, which was registered as a part of Mt. Fuji’s world heritage site, as well as JA’s pilot shop Kirari, where she enjoyed a cup of green tea, one of Shizuoka’s local specialties.

She also enjoyed an award-winning tea served by a certified Japanese tea instructor and JA representatives at the hotel she stayed. “This is so rich in umami. I never had tasted this  before,” she said.

She posted photos of herself enjoying strawberry picking and sightseeing tours in Shizuoka on her Instagram and Facebook accounts.
