A representative of the Kawasaki Kiko company told the press that the black tea ingredients instantaneous analyzers have not been available in the market, saying “We are very proud of developing the analyzer for the first time in the world.”

Shizuoka Prefectural Agriculture and Forestry Research Institute and Shizuoka Seiki, Co., Ltd. also jointed the successful development of this new black tea ingredients analyzer.

Kawasaki Kiko’s GTN-B takes just 15 seconds to measure major ingredients of black tea, including moisture content, total nitrogen, neutral detergent fiber, caffeine, and polyphenols peculiar to the tea.

Measurement of these ingredients is quickly done by putting a packed sample of ground tea leaves into the main part of the GTN-B analyzer.

The company has already decided to participate in a project to be implemented by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to extend the use of GTN-B in Sri Lanka in coordination with the National Tea Research Institute and Tea Department of the Sri Lankan Government.

The base price of GTN-B is 6 million yen.
