“Strawberry Buffets” at luxury hotels in the Tokyo metropolitan area are now enhancing its reputation among young female guests. Those buffets are almost fully booked everyday by those guests visiting the buffets to have various kinds of strawberries as much as they can eat for a fixed price.
A main purpose of these guests is to eat fresh strawberries rather than sweet cakes made with strawberries. Buffets serving many varieties of fresh strawberries are becoming most popular among young females who wish to simply enjoy a fun like joining a “strawberry picking tour” organized at hotels in the metropolitan area.
Most of these buffets have two special sections: one is filled with strawberry desserts such as cakes and macaroon, and the other one is full of fresh strawberries, where guests can taste as many strawberries as they like.
“I am so happy. I just feel as if I were participating in a strawberry picking tour at a hotel in my city,” a female in her 20s, piling up lots of strawberries on her plate, said at a buffet-style restaurant in Hotel New Otani Makuhari, Chiba-shi, Chiba prefecture.
