Washoku Works Inc., established jointly by ZEN-NOH (National Federation of Agricultural Cooperative Associations) headquartered at Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, and a comprehensive food corporation, mainly exporting frozen foods produced in Japan, plans to expand the overseas operations of Sushi restaurants in collaboration with Uoriki Co., Ltd., operating wholesale and retail shops of seafood, based at Tachikawa-shi, Tokyo.
Washoku Works (literally, Japanese cuisine works) will open an experimental restaurant of Sushi and Japanese cuisines in Singapore by the end of the fiscal 2016. They also aim to take a step to increase sales of Japanese rice and other farm products in overseas markets, with the advantage that the company can supply the high quality “Shari” (special rice for Sushi) and fresh seafood for Sushi with farm products from Japan.
The Washoku Works has decided to increase its capital through allocating new stocks to a third party of the Uoriki (literally, power of fish) to procure a fund of 19 million yen for the new pilot project in Singapore by the end of June.
Sushi’s ingredients, prepared and processed with fresh fishes and other sea products, are to be sent by air to Singapore after being frozen by the Washoku Works with its high-speed freezing technology.
All the ingredients for Sushi will be transported to overseas markets after completing works of preparation and processing, which makes it possible for the overseas Sushi-bars to serve their guests with genuine Sushi dishes even though the bars have not any professional Sushi chefs.
People of the Washoku Works are designing to open a new-style restaurant of Sushi and Japanese cuisines attached with a corner for takeout services in Singapore.
