Join ZEN-NOH’s general election and vote for your favorite gummy candy from 47 prefectures of Japan.

TOKYO, Feb. 19 – Vote to choose your favorite gummy! On February 19, the National Federation of Agricultural Cooperative Associations (ZEN-NOH) kicked off a nationwide competition among Nippon Yell Brand gummy candies made with fruits unique to each of the 47 prefectures of Japan. It will be a poll to choose the best gummy candy from 47 kinds representing 47 prefectures. The federation has set up a unique website for the vote, which is open to the public. Japan at turning point to strengthen food security: White Paper on Agriculture

TOKYO, May 27 – The Japanese government approved an Annual Report on Food, Agriculture, and Rural Areas in Japan for the fiscal year 2022 (White Paper on Agriculture 2022) at its cabinet meeting on May 26. Japan’s prime minister vows to work on boosting domestic agricultural production

TOKYO, May 12 — Prime Minister Fumio Kishida addressed the fiscal 2023 national conference of The Japan Agricultural News held in Tokyo on May 11 and said the establishment of food supply bases aimed at increasing domestic production will be the pillar of the government’s agricultural policy.   Kishida also stressed the need for structural shift to break away from excessive dependence on imports of food and production materials. Ukrainian agricultural policy makers visit areas in Miyagi Prefecture restored from the 2011 disaster

MIYAGI, April 20 — Senior officials of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine visited Miyagi Prefecture on April 19 to inspect farming areas, such as large-scale greenhouse horticulture, which were restored from the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake. As Ukrainian industries including the farming sector suffer great damage from Russia’s military invasion, the officials said horticultural agriculture can become a source of employment, adding that they hope to learn from efforts made in Japan. Japan’s agriculture minister visits Miyazaki which will host the G7 farm ministers’ meeting

MIYAZAKI, March 19 — Tetsuro Nomura, the minister of agriculture, forestry and fisheries, visited on March 18 the city of Miyazaki which will host the Group of Seven agricultural ministers’ meeting in April and exchanged opinions with Miyazaki Gov. Shunji Kono and others. Nomura reiterated that the meeting will focus on food security and said Japan plans to explain efforts related to its Green Food System Strategy aimed at reducing the environmental impact of agriculture, including extensive cooperation between crop farming and livestock production.
